WIAW: S'mores & Georgia on my mind

Ever since I went to a bonfire last week, I've been craving s'mores.

Brainstorming for cheapest alternatives later, I went with the classic graham crackers and marshmallows, but upped it with the chocolate.

Cookies 'n' Milk Chocolate bar, what??! And for my "health," Special Dark.

Attempt #1 for me: used a stick lighter to roast marshmallow and fail then melted entire thing in the microwave.

Attempt #2 for my little cousin: Microwave marshmallow and chocolate for 10 seconds. Didn't melt as well.

My fingers got sticky.

Oh wait, I also picked up this expensive(r) bar of chocolate.

Georgia on my mind. Yum.

What is the best way to make s'mores at home?
What's your favorite city? Atlanta. Yup, I've been there quite a bit including a memorable chaperoning trip with my high school kids. They have some gorgeous colleges. Southern charm and history and still modern... Athens was a cool college town too.

    1. I like it - dried peaches and pecans. I wish there were more of both though.

    1. I wish I could justify all the chocolate as being "dark" but I loved the chocolate bar combo so much, I just did it.

  7. That smore looks amazing!! I cannot remember the last time I had one of those. Oh child hood. When I make them at home if it is in the summer I whip out the fire pit but if I remember as a kid we would put the stove on low and use that. I put the marshmallow on a stick and roast it on the stove (be careful lol) then put the chocolate on the gram cracker then add the marshmallow and enjoy. :) the heat from the marshmallow makes the chocolate melt. it comes out perfect.

My favorite city is NYC of course lol but I have never been down south. I always say if I go I will be on of those city people who never leave lol. I want to visit North Carolina. I hear is is beautiful down there.
